Ehteshamul Haque serves as Principal Attorney of the Law Office of Ehteshamul Haque, PLLC, and as Outside General Counsel for Shared Assessments, where he provides comprehensive corporate legal services including contract review, vendor management, compliance oversight, and strategic guidance to the senior leadership team.
Haque brings extensive in-house corporate counsel experience to his practice, having served in legal roles at Fortune 500 companies including Verizon and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His corporate law expertise encompasses commercial contracting, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and complex business transactions. He holds two degrees in Computer Science—a Master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor’s degree from The College of Wooster—along with a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and a Master of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Throughout his career, Haque has provided strategic corporate counsel across diverse business environments. As Staff Counsel at Verizon, he advised senior management on corporate compliance issues, anti-bribery regulations, and government contracting matters while managing complex procurement disputes and corporate risk assessment. At Hewlett Packard Enterprise, he served as Legal Counsel managing global corporate transactions, including multinational outsourcing agreements and cross-border business arrangements, while coordinating corporate actions with international subsidiaries and working directly with Sales VPs and SVPs on corporate strategy.
His corporate law experience extends to government service as Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as Deputy Designated Agency Ethics Official in the Office of the Attorney General. In this role, he provided corporate governance counsel on conflicts of interest, ethics compliance, and regulatory matters while conducting corporate investigations and implementing compliance programs.
Haque is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is fluent in Bangla and resides with his wife and two daughters in Virginia.
Ehteshamul Haque is the General Counsel of the Nushoor Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing humanitarian technology challenges. Through this platform, he actively applies and expands his expertise to provide corporate governance counsel on conflicts of interest, ethics compliance, and regulatory matters, as it pertains to our humanitarian tech initiatives and campaigns for the destitute and distressed populations both within the United States and around the world.
