Mohammad Powell is a computer science student with a background in event programming with Muslim Student Associations and Masajid. He was one of the founders and President of the SUNY ECC Muslim Student Association. He also created youth programs and events for the Futuwwa Fraternity, a Muslim organization to help upbring young Muslim men.
Mohammad’s work experience began as a computer tutor in the computer labs of his local community college. He is currently a System Administrator at Universal School, a prominent Islamic school in Western New York.
Mohammad started his education in Business Administration at SUNY ECC and the University of Buffalo before pivoting to Computer Science.
Mohammad is from Charlotte, NC, and lived overseas in the Emirates for five years before returning to the States. He enjoys applying his creativity within graphic media and creating events to assist young adults in their professional and spiritual life. He currently lives in Buffalo, NY. No pets yet.
Mohammad Powell is the Head of Media Relations of the Nushoor Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing humanitarian technology challenges. Through this platform, he actively applies and expands his expertise to media outreach, strategic messaging, and social media engagement as it pertains to serving our destitute and distressed populations both within the United States and around the world.
